Join us for our 3rd annual Prairie City EMS 5K fundraiser. We love doing this fundraiser as it brings our community together and along with other people from the state of Iowa to enjoy a run, walk or support their friends and family who are doing the 5k. The race will start at 8 am in front of the Post Office on Main St. (at the corner of Main and 5th St) in Prairie City.

Newton Public Library Join Iowa River Hospice to share and discuss caregiver support, grief support, advance directives and legal questions, and healthcare decision-making for yourself or your loved ones.
This monthly support group is ideal for seniors, families, and caregivers. Support group meetings take place on the last Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at the Newton Public Library.
All group meetings are free to attend and open to the public. New topics discussed every month!

Baby/Toddler/PreK Paint Time

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Calling all littles who love to paint and all parents who want the mess out of their home! 
I'm an art teacher with two young children, and I'm offering a creative painting time geared towards babies, toddlers, and Pre-K children. In this class, your child will have a chance to get messy and explore with paint using a paintbrush and their hands (finger painting is encouraged 
).
This class is $20 and includes one 16x20 inch canvas, masking tape if you choose to create a design prior to adding paint (see examples in the photos), and washable tempera paint to use during class. The price is per canvas, not per child, so more than one child can paint on one canvas. Adults can join in too!
*We will meet at the picnic shelter at Thomas Jefferson Elementary.
*Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
*Please wear old clothes or bring your own paint shirt.
*I will provide water and rags/wipes to clean hands when done.
*Play on the playground while you wait for your painting to dry!
To reserve your spot, please respond via Facebook messenger with the number of painters and canvases you would like. You can submit payment via Venmo @Jennah-Hughes-2 or bring cash to the event.
