Seasonal Employment - Skilled Laborer

The Jasper County Roads Department is accepting applications for qualified individuals to assist with snow removal on a required need basis.  May assist with other tasks related to road/bridge maintenance or repairs.  Individuals may be required to operate a dump truck with blade, sand truck and/or motor grader with v-plow.  This position has no guarantee of hours but will be based on weather conditions or special needs with the Jasper County Roads Department.  Occasionally may be required to help in other areas of the road department.  The rate of pay is $20.00 with no scheduled increases or County paid benefits.  This is a temporary, seasonal position with hours of work based on weather conditions and/or need.  Estimated length of employment: December 1, 2023, through April 30, 2024.

Qualified candidates must possess a valid Iowa CDL with air brake endorsement, must have a good driving record, and must be able to perform routine maintenance to any equipment assigned to him/her and assist mechanic with repairs as needed.
